Vallarpadam Basilica Annual Feast Begins: Solemn Flag-Hoisting (Kodiyettu) Ceremony Held

The annual feast of the historic National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Ransom, Vallarpadam, officially commenced with the auspicious and solemn Kodiyettu (Flag-Hoisting) ceremony. Drawing thousands of faithful pilgrims, families, and religious dignitaries to the tranquil backwater island of Kochi, the ceremony marks the commencement of the week-long Marian festival celebrated with deep devotion across Kerala.
